Mehmet Bulut, an educator and entrepreneur who dedicated his life to education and said, "The greatest seed is education. Plant this seed wherever you step, and don't worry about the rest," started this educational legacy in 2010. However, following his sudden death, he bequeathed it to his daughter Nilüfer Bulut with the instruction, "All my hard work and savings were for education; put this into practice." This legacy has now been realized, and the Bulut Education Foundation has come into existence. The Foundation, which provides scholarships to many young people to enable them to continue their education, has initiated the necessary work to establish a university.
Established by the Bulut Education Foundation, Istanbul Galata University gained public legal personality with the publication of its Establishment Law No. 7176, dated May 30, 2019, in the Official Gazette No. 30799, dated June 12, 2019. Adopting the philosophy that "even if you build the best buildings and provide the best technology, nothing matters if you don't have a well-educated and happy workforce," our Foundation decided to invest in human capital. To cultivate young people who trust in themselves, their state and country, are committed to their values, are indigenous and national, possess leadership qualities, are entrepreneurial, productive, happy, and united by love, Istanbul Galata University was founded. Aiming to educate individuals who have received a contemporary education, serve humanity, are entrepreneurial, and self-confident, Istanbul Galata University commenced its educational activities in 2020.
Today, our University, which offers education in a total of 45 programs across 5 faculties, 1 vocational school, and 1 graduate institute, has adopted the mission of training its students as competent individuals. By following global changes and developing collaborations to provide our students with a bright future, our University continues to grow day by day with its advancements in the field of international education.
