In 1922, its name was changed to the "School of Public Works," during which the duration of study was extended first to two and a half years and then to three years. It later transformed into Istanbul Technical School, and subsequently into the Istanbul State Academy of Engineering and Architecture. In 1982, Yıldız University was founded by Decree No. 41 of 1982.
